Zef

"energetic, funky, entrancing, possibly one of the best live bands in the world" (Time Out)

Once again this is a fantastic opportunity to dance to jazzy rondeaux, wild circassian circles, oriental bourrées and dreamy mazurkas.
Laurent Geoffroy (melodeon), Aurélien Claranbaux (melodeon), Pierre Vigneau (bass), Baltazar Montanaro (Violin), Joël Turk (hurdy-gurdy) et Julien Marie (guitar, recorder)

jacal

Jacal

Based in the Ploermel region in Central Brittany, JACAL is first and foremost the coming together of two duos from the fest noz movement. It is also the meeting of four strong voices with an original and authentic repertoire made up of a great variety of airs and dances of both Western Brittany (the Breton speaking part) and Eastern Brittany (the 'Pays Gallo', the Gallo and French-speaking part), interpreted with punch, authority and simplicity
Jean-Luc Le Mouël (Biniou kozh, vocals), Mike James (Melodeon, vocals), Yves Leblanc (Bass clarinet, vocals), Jean-Pierre Cadic (Bombarde, vocals)

Ultraviolet

Wonderful trio playing traditional and original music mainly in the dance style of Central France. The instrumental combinations, like the dances themselves, provide a range of moods, from smooth and slinky to raw and energetic
Steve Ellis (everything), Geoff Beilby (guitar, melodeon), Marion Ludwig (melodeon, flute)

Doug Eunson & Sarah Matthews

Extremely good musicians (melodeons, fiddle, viola and vocals) from the fantastic local folk band Cross o'th Hands, Sarah and Doug are also known as a brilliant duo with highly imaginative, arrangements, lovely harmonies and superb dance music to boot!

Steve TurnerYannick

Steve Turner & Yannick Minvielle-Debat

Well–known to Kinnersley Festival goers, Steve(accordion) and Yannick's (vocals) repertoire include French bal classics and chants à répondre from Brittany, reflecting Yannick's Parisian/ Breton background. yves

Yves Leblanc

Yves is a specialist of Breton dance who has a mastery of both sides of the stage - he has a state diploma in teaching traditional music, and teaches music and dance for the association Chants et Danses de France. Last time he came to the festival you didn't want him to leave!
